Local Rules

1.   OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 2) is defined by:

  1. Beyond any hedge, fence or white post bounding the course.
  2. Behind the 1st tee and defining the surrounds and paths of the car park and Clubhouse, including the practice putting ground and area outside the dining room and kitchen (white posts with black tops).
  3. Bounding the practice ground.
  4. On the left of the 12th and 13th holes.
  5. A ball which crosses the railway line dividing the course and comes to rest beyond the railway is out of bounds even though it may lie on another part of the course.

Note. Out of Bounds is determined by the nearest inside points at ground level of any stakes or fence.

2.   PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)

All penalty areas are identified by red or yellow posts and defined by a red or yellow line.  Players must proceed as per Rule 17.1d.

3.   PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES (Rule 16.1)

If a young tree identified by a stake interferes with a player’s stance or area of their intended swing the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with Rule 16.1.

4.   FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS (Rule 16.1)

a)    All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1.

b)    If a ball is on the putting green and there is interference by a drainage hole on the line of play, the player may take free relief by placing the original or another ball on the spot nearest the point of complete relief not nearer the hole.  The nearest point of complete relief must be either on the putting green or in the general area.

5.  ROADS, PATHS AND WOODEN STEPS

Wooden steps, all artificially surfaced roads, paths and Astro turf covers on the course are immovable obstructions and relief may be obtained under Rule 16.1.

6.  GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 16)

All areas bounded by white lines or blue stakes are ground under repair Rule 16.1.
